AbbVie Collaboration with Neomorph to Develop Molecular Glue Degraders
Friday, January 24, 2025
AbbVie and Neomorph have entered into a collaboration and licensing agreement to develop molecular glue degraders targeting multiple areas in oncology and immunology.
Molecular glue degraders are an innovative type of small molecules that focus on degrading specific proteins involved in cancer growth and immune system disorders.
These degraders offer a targeted approach to treatment and hold the potential to address proteins previously considered "undruggable".
The partnership leverages AbbVie’s expertise in advancing novel therapeutic technologies and Neomorph’s platform for developing molecular glue degraders with broad proteome coverage.
This collaboration aims to address some of the most complex challenges in oncology and immunology by developing treatments for critical and currently underserved targets.
As part of the agreement, Neomorph will receive an upfront payment, with potential earnings of up to $1.64 billion through option fees and milestone payments.
Additionally, the agreement includes tiered royalties on future net sales.
