Alloy Therapeutics Partners with Biogen on Multi-Target Antisense Drug Development

Wednesday, April 08, 2026

Alloy Therapeutics has entered into a collaboration and licence agreement with Biogen to support the development of antisense therapies across multiple undisclosed targets.

The agreement enables Biogen to use Alloy’s proprietary AntiClastic™ ASO platform to advance its research programmes.

Under the terms of the deal, Alloy will receive an upfront payment and may earn additional milestone payments, along with tiered royalties on any products developed through the collaboration.

The partnership combines Biogen’s expertise in developing innovative medicines with Alloy’s antisense drug discovery platform. The AntiClastic™ ASO platform is designed to improve the effectiveness of antisense therapies by targeting RNA within cells. It aims to address key challenges such as limited distribution in the body and reduced therapeutic performance, which have historically restricted the potential of antisense drugs.

Alloy’s platform introduces new oligonucleotide designs that enhance potency and improve the therapeutic index. The technology also focuses on better delivery to target RNA and reducing inflammatory responses. Preclinical data indicate that these candidates may offer improved potency compared to traditional antisense formats.

The collaboration reflects ongoing efforts by both companies to advance novel therapeutic approaches and accelerate the development of treatments for complex diseases.
