Altasciences and VoxCell BioInnovation Collaborate to Enhance Preclinical Drug Development

Friday, August 01, 2025

Altasciences and VoxCell BioInnovation have entered into a strategic collaboration to improve preclinical drug development by combining their respective expertise in drug research and 3D tissue technology.

Altasciences, known for its fully integrated early-phase drug development services, will work closely with VoxCell, a company specialising in 3D bioprinting and human-like tissue modelling. The partnership aims to offer a more accurate and human-relevant testing environment in the early stages of drug development.

By incorporating VoxCell’s high-resolution bioprinted tissue models into Altasciences’ preclinical workflows, the collaboration is expected to support faster and more reliable evaluations of drug safety, efficacy, and toxicity. These advanced tissue platforms replicate the complexity of human tumours and other biological structures, helping to reduce the need for animal testing and shorten R&D timelines.

The initial focus will be on drug screening for ocular conditions, with plans to expand into additional therapeutic areas over time.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to scientific innovation and efficiency, with the goal of improving decision-making processes and advancing investigational therapies more quickly toward clinical trials.
