Astellas Enters into Collaboration with Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research to Advance Oncology Research

Wednesday, April 02, 2025

Astellas Pharma and the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research (JFCR) have entered into a strategic collaboration to accelerate translational and clinical oncology research.

This partnership aims to develop new treatments for cancers that are resistant to existing therapies.

By combining Astellas’ scientific and clinical expertise with JFCR’s capabilities as a leading cancer research centre, the collaboration will support the development of early-stage oncology treatments. Jointly selected projects will focus on generating translational and clinical data to refine Astellas’ research pipeline and improve drug development processes.

The agreement strengthens Astellas’ commitment to advancing oncology research by integrating external expertise with its own data-driven approach. JFCR will gain early access to Astellas’ pipeline, benefiting from additional resources to accelerate the translation of new therapies into clinical practice.

Through this partnership, both organisations aim to enhance research efforts and deliver innovative treatments to improve cancer care worldwide.
