Axcelead Enters into Agreement with Acadia Pharmaceuticals for Drug Discovery

Axcelead Drug Discovery partners have entered into a Master Service agreement with Acadia Pharmaceuticals.
The new agreement enables Axcelead DDP to further assist Acadia’s drug discovery initiatives through its integrated drug discovery platform and expertise. Axcelead DDP will provide support in developing high-quality candidate compounds.
Axcelead DDP provides solutions to various challenges in the drug discovery process, from exploratory research to clinical development.
The agreement, announced on 10 September, aims to support Acadia’s efforts in discovering and developing innovative medicines to address unmet medical needs.
Axcelead DDP has been involved in neuroscience drug discovery projects since October 2022, working to identify potential drug candidates.
The launch of a new drug discovery project under the agreement has also been confirmed, with Axcelead DDP receiving an upfront payment, research funding, and milestone fees. Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Axcelead DDP, established in July 2017 after inheriting Takeda Pharmaceutical’s drug discovery platform, offers comprehensive services in areas such as screening, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and safety research.
The company integrates artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into its services, enabling the rapid creation of high-quality drug candidates.
