BioCardia Enters into Partnership with CART-Tech for Heart3D™ Fusion Imaging in Cardiology
Thursday, August 14, 2025
BioCardia has entered into an exclusive agreement with CART-Tech.
The collaboration aims to develop and commercialise the Heart3D™ Fusion Imaging system for interventional cardiology.
The Heart3D system combines real-time two-dimensional X-ray images with pre-procedure three-dimensional anatomical heart models derived from MRI and CT scans. This fusion is expected to improve image guidance during cardiac biotherapeutic delivery and biopsy procedures.
Initially, the technology will be offered as a research tool with support for preclinical studies, with future plans for approval in standard clinical use. BioCardia will have exclusive worldwide distribution rights for biotherapeutic delivery and exclusive US rights for cardiac biopsy. Other distribution rights will remain with CART-Tech.
The partnership integrates both companies’ expertise in cardiac imaging, device positioning, and intellectual property. The Heart3D system is intended to enhance procedural accuracy, support therapeutic strategies, and improve outcomes in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.
At present, Heart3D Fusion Imaging is for investigational use only and has not yet received CE marking or FDA approval.
