Cambrex Enters into Partnership with Lilly to Biotech Manufacturing Capabilities

Cambrex has announced a new agreement with Eli Lilly and Company to provide expanded support for the clinical development of Lilly’s biotech collaborators.
Under this partnership, Cambrex will work with Lilly Catalyze360-ExploR&D, the company's external innovation and collaboration initiative. The collaboration aims to deliver drug substance and product development services, analytical support, and research expertise to accelerate the development of new therapies by Lilly’s biotech partners.
Key activities for this agreement will be centred at Cambrex’s Longmont facility in Colorado, which specialises in advancing early-stage small molecule drugs through the clinical development pipeline. The facility offers capabilities spanning process development, manufacturing, formulation, and analytical testing, including both non-GMP and cGMP production.
Cambrex’s role will also leverage its broader network of facilities to provide additional support as required. The Longmont site is well-suited for early-stage investigational drug development, focusing on efficiency and scientific expertise to meet the needs of biotech innovators.
This collaboration aligns with Lilly Catalyze360’s broader mission to foster scientific innovation and accelerate the development of emerging medicines through initiatives such as ExploR&D, Lilly Ventures, and Lilly Gateway Labs. By combining expertise and infrastructure, the agreement is expected to streamline the journey of biotech products from concept to clinical application.
