Celltrion has announced its acquisition of iQone Healthcare.
The transaction, expected to be finalized by Q4 2024, marks a pivotal step in Celltrion’s strategy to expand its presence across Europe.
Once completed, iQone Healthcare Switzerland will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Celltrion Healthcare Hungary Kft, positioning Celltrion to explore further in-licensing opportunities and strengthen its pipeline of innovative treatments.
This acquisition aligns with Celltrion's strategic shift from solely building direct sales networks to expanding through targeted acquisitions, enhancing its footprint in the competitive biosimilar market.
With an established distribution network across over 20 regions, the company aims to fortify its presence in Switzerland, bolstering both market reach and product portfolio.
Celltrion's vertically integrated model, encompassing research and development, manufacturing, sales, and distribution, supports its commitment to a steady supply of high-quality biosimilars, including those for the Swiss market.
iQone Healthcare Switzerland, founded by Laurent Massuyeau, has maintained a long-standing partnership with Celltrion, creating a strong base for the integration.
