Engine Biosciences Enters into Partnership with EDDC to Develop New Precision Cancer Therapies
Tuesday, April 08, 2025
Engine Biosciences has entered into a strategic partnership with the Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC).
This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of new, precision-based cancer treatments.
The partnership combines Engine’s NetMAPPR platform and oncology expertise with EDDC’s capabilities in drug discovery and development. The goal is to create first-in-class therapies that target specific cancer vulnerabilities through a precision medicine approach.
The first project focuses on ENB-871, a novel drug-target and biomarker combination identified through the NetMAPPR platform. This platform integrates artificial intelligence, biology, and chemistry to find and validate promising drug targets.
ENB-871 is designed to treat tumours with specific genetic mutations, including those found in breast, liver, kidney, and prostate cancers. These types of cancers are increasingly common both in Singapore and globally, with an estimated 500,000 patients potentially benefiting from the therapy each year.
The collaboration will work on developing small molecule degraders that target ENB-871, including studies to demonstrate their effectiveness in living models. By uniting Engine’s data-driven insights with EDDC’s drug development expertise, the project aims to deliver targeted treatments tailored to the genetic profiles of cancer patients, ultimately improving therapeutic outcomes.
The partnership may also explore other drug targets and research initiatives in the future, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing innovative cancer treatments through precision medicine.
