Flagship Pioneering and Pfizer Partner to Develop Novel Autoimmune Disease Treatments

Flagship Pioneering has announced a collaboration between its drug discovery division, Pioneering Medicines, and Pfizer to identify potential small molecule inhibitors for autoimmune diseases.
As part of the agreement, Charles River will utilise Logica®, a platform developed by Valo Health, a Flagship-founded company. Logica combines Valo Health’s AI-powered Opal Computational Platform with Charles River’s drug discovery expertise to translate biological data into optimised preclinical compounds.
The partnership aims to address the growing demand for improved treatments for autoimmune conditions by identifying disease-modifying candidate molecules.
By leveraging AI-driven drug discovery, the initiative seeks to advance understanding of molecular pathways involved in autoimmune diseases, potentially leading to more effective and targeted therapies.
This collaboration is the sixth under the broader strategic alliance between Flagship Pioneering and Pfizer, following agreements with Flagship’s other companies, including ProFound Therapeutics, Quotient Therapeutics, Montai Therapeutics, and Ampersand Biomedicines.
