Galux signs research agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim to advance AI-based protein design

Friday, December 19, 2025

Galux, a South Korea-based biotechnology company focused on AI-driven protein therapeutics discovery, has entered into a research agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim. The collaboration aims to explore the use of artificial intelligence in precision protein design for therapeutic development.

Under the agreement, the two companies will assess how AI can be used to design purpose-specific protein molecules that meet defined scientific and translational requirements. The focus is on areas where traditional protein design approaches face technical limitations.

Earlier this year, Galux achieved progress in de novo antibody design, reporting the discovery of novel antibodies with strong binding affinity, high target specificity and selectivity, as well as structural precision and stability across multiple therapeutic targets. These results support the capabilities of its GaluxDesign AI platform for protein design.

The initial phase of the collaboration will concentrate on validating the feasibility and potential of AI-driven protein design in selected research cases. The findings are expected to support the development of broader research activities between Galux and Boehringer Ingelheim in the future.

The agreement reflects a shared interest in combining AI technologies with biomedical research to support the development of next-generation protein-based therapies.
