GV20 Therapeutics Enters into Collaboration with Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma to Develop Antibody-Drug Conjugates
Thursday, March 27, 2025
GV20 Therapeutics has entered into a research collaboration with Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation.
Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) are a class of targeted cancer therapies that combine the specificity of monoclonal antibodies with the potency of cytotoxic drugs.
These therapies work by attaching a highly potent chemotherapy drug (payload) to an antibody using a chemical linker. The antibody specifically binds to antigens on cancer cells, allowing the drug to be delivered directly to the tumour while minimising damage to healthy tissues.
The partnership will focus on developing antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting novel tumour antigens identified through GV20’s proprietary STEAD AI platform.
MTPC will utilise GV20’s antibodies, designed to target these newly discovered antigens, in the development of ADC therapies.
As part of the agreement, GV20 will receive an upfront payment and may receive additional milestone payments. MTPC has secured the exclusive right to negotiate a licence for the antibodies during the collaboration period.
The collaboration aims to combine GV20’s expertise in antibody discovery with MTPC’s capabilities in linker-payload technology and therapeutic development.
