Immuneering Enters into Agreement with Regeneron for Cancer Therapy Trial
Friday, February 07, 2025
Immuneering has entered into a clinical supply agreement with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals to evaluate a combination therapy for advanced cancer treatment.
The agreement will support the assessment of Immuneering’s lead candidate, IMM-1-104, alongside Regeneron’s anti-PD-1 therapy, Libtayo (cemiplimab), in a Phase 2a clinical trial.
The study will focus on patients with unresectable or metastatic RAS-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The collaboration marks the first clinical partnership for IMM-1-104. Immuneering aims to develop more effective and better tolerated cancer treatments, while Regeneron is recognised for its contributions to cancer research and drug development.
Preclinical findings, presented at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) 2022 annual meeting, suggest that combining deep cyclic MEK inhibitors with immuno-oncology agents, such as PD-1 inhibitors, may help counteract tumour MAPK addiction and enhance anti-tumour immune responses.
Under the agreement, Immuneering will oversee the planned studies, while Regeneron will supply Libtayo.
Immuneering will retain the global development and commercialisation rights to IMM-1-104, whereas Regeneron continues to develop and market Libtayo worldwide.
