Immutep Enters into Collaboration with Dr. Reddy’s for Commercialisation of Eftilagimod Alfa in Key Global Markets
Tuesday, December 09, 2025
Immutep Limited and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories have entered into a strategic collaboration and exclusive licensing agreement for the development and commercialisation of Eftilagimod Alfa (efti) in regions outside North America, Europe, Japan and Greater China.
The agreement has been signed between their respective subsidiaries, Immutep SAS and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories SA.
Efti is a soluble LAG-3 protein and MHC Class II agonist that is administered subcutaneously. It activates antigen-presenting cells, helping to trigger both the adaptive and innate immune responses against cancer. This process supports the activation of cytotoxic T cells and other immune mechanisms that contribute to anti-tumour activity.
The therapy is being evaluated in several solid tumours, including non-small cell lung cancer in a pivotal Phase III trial, as well as head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, breast cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. Its safety profile allows it to be used in combination with treatments such as anti-PD-[L]1 immunotherapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Efti has been granted Fast Track designation by the US FDA for first-line treatment in both HNSCC and NSCLC.
Efti is a first-in-class immunotherapy designed to activate the immune system to target cancer. It is currently being evaluated in TACTI-004 (KEYNOTE-F91), a Phase III registrational trial for first-line treatment of advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. The drug is also under investigation for several other cancers, including head and neck cancer, breast cancer and soft tissue sarcoma.
Under the terms of the agreement, Immutep will receive an upfront payment of USD 20 million. The company may also receive additional regulatory, developmental and commercial milestone payments of up to USD 349.5 million, along with double-digit royalties from future commercial sales in the licensed regions. Immutep will retain global manufacturing rights and will supply the product to Dr. Reddy’s for the markets covered under the agreement, while keeping full rights in major pharmaceutical markets such as North America, Europe and Japan.
The collaboration is expected to support the wider development and commercial expansion of efti, making use of Dr. Reddy’s established presence in multiple regions. The partnership strengthens Immutep’s position in advancing its novel immunotherapy across a broad range of indications.
