Insilico Medicine and Bora Pharmaceuticals Form Strategic Alliance to Advance AI-Driven Drug Development
Wednesday, July 15, 2026
Insilico Medicine has announced a proposed strategic alliance with Bora Pharmaceuticals to combine artificial intelligence (AI)-driven drug discovery with global drug development and manufacturing capabilities.
The collaboration, which is subject to definitive agreements between the two companies, will integrate Insilico's Pharma.AI platform with Bora's expertise in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, quality management and commercialisation. The partners aim to create a more connected drug development process, linking AI-based molecule discovery with efficient development, manufacturing and delivery of medicines.
The proposed multi-target collaboration could be worth more than US$2.5 billion if fully implemented. As part of the partnership, Insilico plans to help Bora strengthen AI capabilities across its workforce while applying AI to improve manufacturing, supply chain, distribution and business operations. The companies expect to refine the scope and operating model as the collaboration progresses.
The alliance is also intended to support Bora's transition towards AI- and automation-driven drug discovery and development. Insilico will provide research and development strategies along with end-to-end AI solutions covering discovery and development workflows. The companies also plan to explore AI applications in development planning, process optimisation, pharmaceutical development, manufacturing readiness and quality systems.
By combining Insilico's AI-driven drug discovery platform with Bora's global expertise in development, manufacturing and commercialisation, the companies aim to improve the efficiency of bringing new drug candidates from discovery to market.
Insilico said the partnership builds on its growing collaborations with pharmaceutical companies across the Asia-Pacific region and reflects the increasing role of AI and automation throughout the pharmaceutical value chain.
The company highlighted its AI-enabled drug discovery platform, which has reduced the time required to nominate preclinical candidates from the traditional 2.5–4 years to an average of 12–18 months. Since 2021, Insilico has nominated 31 preclinical candidates, with 13 receiving Investigational New Drug (IND) approval or clearance.
Insilico also continues to expand its AI platform through MMAI Gym, a benchmarking and training platform designed to improve scientific AI models for drug discovery. The platform is supported by collaborations with Human Longevity and Liquid AI to advance AI capabilities for life sciences research.
