Friday, August 22, 2025

Johnson & Johnson has announced a $2 billion investment to expand its U.S. manufacturing network through a new facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

The company will establish a 160,000-square-foot site at FUJIFILM’s biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus, creating around 120 new jobs over the next decade.

The new facility forms part of wider plans to increase advanced manufacturing capacity across the United States, including upgrades to existing sites and the development of additional locations. The move aims to strengthen the company’s ability to produce most of its advanced medicines domestically and ensure reliable supply for U.S. patients.

Construction is also progressing on the company’s Wilson, North Carolina site, expected to employ more than 500 people once operational and support about 5,000 construction jobs during development.

Alongside manufacturing, Johnson & Johnson is expanding its research and development capabilities across key areas including oncology, neuroscience, immunology, cardiovascular disease, and robotic surgery.

In total, the company has committed $55 billion over four years to support U.S. manufacturing, research, and technology development, with its latest investment reinforcing North Carolina’s role as a hub for biopharmaceutical growth.
