Lonza’s Synaffix and Sidewinder Therapeutics Sign Multi-Target Licence Agreement for Next-Generation Bispecific ADCs
Thursday, January 08, 2026
Synaffix, a Lonza company, and Sidewinder Therapeutics have entered into a multi-target licensing agreement to support the development of next-generation bispecific antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for the treatment of solid tumours.
Under the agreement, Sidewinder will gain access to Lonza’s clinically validated, site-specific ADC technology platform. This includes the GlycoConnect® antibody conjugation technology, HydraSpace® polar spacer technology, and the toxSYN® linker-payload system. These technologies are designed to improve tumour targeting while reducing damage to healthy tissue.
The deal allows Lonza to receive upfront payments, as well as milestone payments linked to clinical, regulatory, and commercial progress, in addition to royalties on net product sales. Lonza will manufacture components related to its proprietary technologies, while Sidewinder will lead the research, development, manufacturing, and commercialisation of the ADC candidates.
The collaboration combines Sidewinder’s bispecific antibody platform, which focuses on improved tumour-cell specificity and internalisation, with Synaffix’s ADC technologies. Together, the companies aim to develop first-in-class bispecific ADC therapies with a stronger therapeutic index and better tolerability, supporting the advancement of new treatment options for patients with cancer.
