MOLCURE Partners with Boehringer Ingelheim to Develop Next-Generation Antibody Drugs Using AI-driven Technology
Tuesday, October 07, 2025
MOLCURE Inc. has entered into a multi-year strategic research partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim to discover and develop innovative antibody therapies for multiple targets through its proprietary AI-driven platform.
Therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are an essential part of modern medicine, particularly in treating cancer, autoimmune, and infectious diseases. Although mAb-based therapies have already benefited millions of patients, their discovery and development through traditional methods remain complex and time-consuming.
The collaboration seeks to combine the expertise of both companies to advance antibody discovery. By integrating artificial intelligence into this process, the partnership aims to explore a broader range of antibody designs with greater speed and efficiency compared to conventional approaches.
MOLCURE has built an advanced AI-driven platform based on a large language model (LLM) created specifically for antibody engineering. The company will work with Boehringer Ingelheim to merge high-throughput experimental data with this custom antibody LLM. This combination of laboratory data and computer modelling is expected to enable the design of new antibody sequences, including those that are difficult to identify using traditional methods.
The partnership supports Boehringer Ingelheim’s goal to develop first-in-class therapies that improve patient outcomes. By uniting strengths in AI and biology, both companies aim to accelerate the discovery of next-generation antibody-based medicines.
