Wednesday, July 31, 2024
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) has extended its strategic partnership with Medlive, continuing to make NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) available throughout China. This ongoing collaboration will support the distribution of these essential guidelines via nccnchina.org.cn and Medlive's digital platforms, including computers, smartphones, and tablets.
The NCCN Guidelines® offer expert, evidence-based recommendations for cancer care, with 88 guidelines that cover 97% of global cancer cases, including aspects of prevention, screening, and supportive care. This partnership improves accessibility for users in China, featuring faster download speeds and an easier registration process.
"NCCN is dedicated to improving cancer care by making it more effective, equitable, and accessible," said Dr. Crystal S. Denlinger, CEO of NCCN. "Renewing our collaboration with Medlive supports our global health mission, ensuring that Chinese medical professionals and patients have access to the critical resources needed for high-quality cancer care."
Globally, the NCCN Guidelines are utilized by nearly half of the over 1.9 million registered users outside the U.S. as of June 2024. China ranks second in user numbers, following the U.S., with more than 850,000 guideline downloads annually, many through Medlive.
Lixin Tian, President and Executive Director of Medlive, expressed enthusiasm about the continued partnership: "We are pleased to keep working with NCCN to provide crucial oncology resources to healthcare professionals in China through Medlive's platform. This collaboration ensures timely access to the respected NCCN Guidelines, supporting high-quality, evidence-based patient care."
Jiangtao Xin, Vice President of Medlive, emphasized the importance of the renewed partnership: "This collaboration acts as a bridge between oncology experts in China and the U.S., facilitating shared knowledge and better patient outcomes."
The two organizations will keep updating the NCCN Guidelines library on Medlive’s platform, with many guidelines now available in both Chinese and English.
