Nona Biosciences Partners with Kodiak Sciences for Next-Generation Antibody Therapies
Tuesday, December 10, 2024
Nona Biosciences has announced a strategic collaboration with Kodiak Sciences to advance the discovery of innovative multi-target antibodies for treating ophthalmic diseases. The partnership leverages Nona’s proprietary Harbour Mice® platform, known for its fully human antibody capabilities.
Under this agreement, Kodiak Sciences secures the rights to utilise the H2L2 and HCAb Harbour Mice® platforms across multiple therapeutic antibody discovery and development programmes. This partnership underscores the value and potential of Nona’s cutting-edge Harbour Mice® technology.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of next-generation biotherapeutics by combining the expertise of both companies to deliver innovative treatments to patients in need.
Nona’s Harbour Mice® platform is capable of generating fully human monoclonal antibodies in two formats the two heavy and two light chains (H2L2) format, and the heavy chain-only (HCAb) format. This eliminates the need for further engineering or humanisation.
Notably, the HCAb Harbour Mice® platform is revolutionising antibody development by producing unique, fully human heavy chain-only antibodies. These antibodies, approximately half the size of conventional IgGs, offer significant advantages for next-generation antibody therapies.
