Ono Pharmaceutical Enters into Collaboration with Congruence Therapeutics to Advance Small Molecule Correctors in Oncology

Wednesday, December 04, 2024

Ono Pharmaceutical has formed a collaboration with Congruence Therapeutics to develop novel small molecule correctors targeting specific proteins in the field of oncology.

The collaboration will utilise Congruence’s proprietary Revenir™ drug discovery platform.

As part of the agreement, Congruence will use its Revenir™ platform to identify small molecule correctors for oncology-related protein targets.

Ono will have exclusive global rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialise the resulting compounds. Congruence will receive an upfront payment, research funding, and milestone payments linked to research, development, and sales progress, alongside tiered royalties on net sales.

The partnership leverages Congruence’s expertise in protein dynamics and computational biology to address validated oncology targets.

The Revenir™ platform examines biophysical changes in proteins caused by mutations, offering insights into defects and potential corrections. By evaluating surface characteristics and biophysical descriptors, it predicts how small molecules may correct protein defects.

This collaboration aims to advance innovative cancer therapies, enhancing Ono’s pipeline and contributing to the development of treatments for unmet medical needs.
