Orion and Invenra Partner to Develop Bispecific Antibody Cancer Therapies
Friday, January 31, 2025
Orion has entered into a collaboration with Invenra to advance the discovery and development of bispecific antibodies for cancer treatment.
Antibody cancer therapies use engineered antibodies to target and destroy cancer cells while minimising damage to healthy tissue.
These treatments work by recognising specific proteins (antigens) on cancer cells, triggering immune responses, blocking growth signals, or delivering toxic agents directly to tumours.
Invenra, a biotechnology company with expertise in therapeutic discovery, will apply its B-Body® platform to generate bispecific antibody candidates.
As part of the agreement, Invenra will identify and optimise bispecific antibody leads, while Orion will oversee target selection, development, manufacturing, and global commercialisation.
The partnership grants Orion commercial licenses for up to two bispecific antibodies.
This collaboration brings together Invenra’s engineering capabilities in bispecific antibody discovery with Orion’s experience in pharmaceutical development.
The initiative aims to create new therapeutic options to address medical needs in oncology.
