Piramal Pharma Solutions and Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services partner to support ADC development and manufacturing

Piramal Pharma Solutions and Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services have formed a strategic partnership to strengthen capabilities in antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) development and manufacturing.
Under the agreement, Piramal will direct suitable customers to Ajinomoto’s AJICAP™ technology for ADC manufacturing solutions. In return, Ajinomoto will recommend Piramal as a contract development and manufacturing partner for customers using AJICAP™ technology, supporting programmes from early development to commercial production.
The companies will also enter into a separate Material Transfer Agreement to enable technology transfer. This will provide Piramal with the required expertise, infrastructure, and trained personnel to manufacture AJICAP™-based products efficiently and accurately.
Piramal has more than 20 years of experience in ADC development and was among the first organisations to support commercial ADC manufacturing. The company operates a global network of advanced plants, has worked on hundreds of ADC projects, and has completed thousands of production batches. It is also expanding its capacity to support large-scale commercial manufacturing.
Ajinomoto’s AJICAP™ platform supports the development of site-specific ADCs and linker technologies through efficient and streamlined processes. This approach helps improve treatment effectiveness while reducing unwanted side effects, particularly for early-stage pharmaceutical developers.
The collaboration brings together AJICAP™ technology and Piramal’s manufacturing expertise, aiming to simplify technology transfer, improve scale-up processes, and accelerate development timelines. It is expected to help customers deliver safe, effective, and precise ADC therapies more efficiently.
