Friday, July 19, 2024

Pluri Inc. (Nasdaq: PLUR) (TASE: PLUR) ("Pluri"), a leader in biotechnology, has entered into a technology transfer and manufacturing agreement with Kadimastem Ltd. (TASE: KDST), a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing cell therapies for ALS and diabetes. Through its PluriCDMO™ division, launched earlier this year, Pluri will utilize its 47,000-square-foot GMP cell production facility to manufacture cell-based products for life science companies.

Under this agreement, PluriCDMO™ will produce two cell therapy candidates for Kadimastem: AstroRx®, clinical-grade human astrocytes for ALS, for an upcoming U.S. FDA Phase 2a study; and IsletRx, clinical-grade pancreatic islet cells for diabetes treatment.

Kadimastem selected PluriCDMO™ due to Pluri’s extensive experience in developing and manufacturing GMP-grade cell-based products for clinical use. PluriCDMO™ offers a comprehensive partnership, supporting cell therapy production from initial clinical trial batches to large-scale commercial production.

"Collaborating with Pluri marks a crucial milestone, boosting Kadimastem's ability to manufacture our products under GMP conditions,” said Ronen Twito, Executive Chairman & President of Kadimastem. “This partnership is essential as we prepare for clinical trials and aim to enter the U.S. market with AstroRx®."

“We are excited to support Kadimastem in their mission to develop cell therapies that can potentially improve the lives of patients with ALS and diabetes,” said Yaky Yanay, CEO and President of Pluri. “This collaboration showcases the adaptability of our PluriCDMO™ platform and our dedication to helping innovative companies advance their therapies. We anticipate a fruitful partnership with Kadimastem as they progress with their clinical programs.”

Pluri’s CDMO division, launched in January 2024, leverages proprietary technology and a state-of-the-art cell therapy production facility to serve its clients. PluriCDMO™ provides access to Pluri's advanced GMP facilities and patented bioreactor system, enabling large-scale 3D cell expansion through a fully automated, controlled, and validated process.
