ProFound Therapeutics and Novartis Partner to Develop Cardiovascular Treatments

ProFound Therapeutics has entered into a four-year strategic collaboration with Novartis to discover and develop new treatments for cardiovascular disease.
The partnership brings together ProFound’s expertise in protein discovery with Novartis’ long-standing experience in cardiovascular drug development.
The collaboration will focus on using the ProFoundry™ Platform, which combines biological data with advanced computational tools to identify previously unknown proteins within the expanded human proteome. These proteins are expected to serve as new drug targets or therapies, offering potential breakthroughs in treating heart-related conditions.
As part of the agreement, ProFound will receive $25 million in upfront and near-term milestone payments. The deal also includes the possibility of further payments of up to $750 million per target, along with tiered royalties based on future product sales.
Through this alliance, the two companies aim to explore less-researched areas of biology and uncover new mechanisms to help address the increasing global burden of cardiovascular disease.
