Recce Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX: RCE, FSE: R9Q) has announced the ongoing progress of its Anti-Infective Research (AIR) Unit at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), aimed at enhancing its preclinical programs and exploring new indications for future clinical trials.
Established in 2023, Recce's dedicated AIR Unit, led by Dr. Sohinee Sarkar, operates within MCRI's advanced research facilities. This collaboration underscores a joint commitment to pioneering innovation in anti-infective therapeutics.
The partnership has yielded significant strides in ongoing preclinical investigations of RECCE® 327, Recce's lead candidate, targeting various life-threatening infectious pathogens. These include Escherichia coli, associated with urinary tract infections and potentially lethal urosepsis, as well as Mycobacterium abscessus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae – the latter being a priority pathogen on the World Health Organization's list.
