RyboDyn Chosen to Join Lilly Gateway Labs to Drive Next-Generation Immunotherapies
Friday, June 20, 2025
RyboDyn, Inc., a biotechnology firm developing first-in-class immunotherapies targeting the dark proteome, has been selected to join Lilly Gateway Labs (LGL) in San Diego. Operated in partnership with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, this innovation hub will give RyboDyn access to Eli Lilly and Company’s global scientific and business network—supporting the company’s efforts to advance its lead programmes.
RyboDyn’s work is centred on a newly discovered cryptic proteome, made up of previously unrecognised protein-coding elements from overlooked RNA sources. Using its proprietary AI and sequencing platform, RyboCypher™, the company has identified cancer-specific therapeutic targets that appear on tumour cell surfaces but are not found in healthy tissue. Research with Moffitt Cancer Center has shown that many of these targets—referred to as Dark Targets™—are shared among different patients, highlighting their potential for precision immunotherapy.
The company’s inclusion in Lilly Gateway Labs is part of the Lilly Catalyze360™ model, which aims to support early-stage biotech firms by offering access to top-tier laboratory facilities and drug development expertise. This includes three core components: Lilly Gateway Labs®, Lilly ExploR&D™, and Lilly Ventures.
Now based at One Alexandria Square Megacampus in Torrey Pines, RyboDyn is focused on progressing its pipeline and exploring strategic partnerships as it moves closer to first-in-human clinical studies.
