Friday, October 18, 2024

Sanofi and Orano Med have entered into a strategic agreement to combine expertise in the fight against rare cancers, aiming to accelerate the development of next-generation radioligand therapies (RLTs).

The partnership will focus on a new entity under the Orano Med brand, dedicated to the discovery, design, and clinical advancement of RLTs using lead-212 (212Pb) alpha-emitting isotopes.

This collaboration follows Sanofi’s recent exclusive licensing agreement with Orano Med and RadioMedix to progress radioligand therapies for rare cancers, with particular emphasis on a late-stage project, AlphaMedix™.

By combining Sanofi’s expertise with Orano Med’s R&D and radiopharmaceutical strengths, the collaboration seeks to fast-track transformative therapies like AlphaMedix to benefit patients in need.

The joint effort underscores Sanofi’s commitment to building stronger connections within the global scientific community, aiming to pioneer cutting-edge treatments for patients.

Sanofi's investment will bolster Orano Med’s capabilities, accelerating its pipeline development by leveraging its specialized knowledge in lead-212 based therapies. This partnership reflects the promising potential of lead-212 RLTs in advancing cancer treatments and validates Orano Med's 15-year expertise in targeted alpha therapies.
