Simcere Zaiming Enters into Collaboration with TargetRx for Launching the Newest ALK Inhibitor
Tuesday, September 03, 2024
Simcere Zaiming has partnered with TargetRx. The partnership is on TGRX-326, a dual ALK/ROS1 receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that is currently undergoing clinical trials.
TGRX-326 is a third-generation ALK inhibitor developed by TargetRx. It is a highly selective small molecule that targets both ALK and ROS1 receptor tyrosine kinases. This particular inhibitor appears to show considerable promise in treating patients suffering from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who possess ALK-ROS1 fusion genes; especially those suffering from G1202R mutation that is resistant to ALK.
As part of the agreement, Simcere Zaiming will acquire exclusive commercial rights to market TGRX-326 in mainland China. These rights will cover marketing activities, strategic formulation and reaping profits based on sales success. On the other hand, TargetRx will receive an upfront payment exceeding 20 million dollars plus reimbursement for promotional services rendered by Simcere Zaiming.
TGRX-326 demonstrated favorable outcomes in preclinical studies and Phase 1 clinical trials, exhibiting potent anti-tumour efficiency and safety. In addition, it effectively crosses the blood-brain barrier, showing promising results for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases.
Simcere Zaiming partnership complements our strategic thrust on lung cancer. We are dedicated to growing our product range as well as providing enhanced treatment alternatives for patients with ALK/ROS1 fusion mutations.
TGRX-326 could be considered the best-in-class ALK inhibitor. TargetRx is convinced, along with Simcere Zaiming’s collaboration, this drug will be on the market in a short time thus giving a new cancer therapy option to patients who need one.
