Wednesday, September 03, 2025

Thermo Fisher Scientific has finalised the acquisition of Sanofi’s sterile fill-finish and packaging site in Ridgefield, New Jersey.

The facility will now operate as part of Thermo Fisher's pharma services business within its Laboratory Products and Biopharma Services segment. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the agreement, Thermo Fisher will continue to produce a range of therapies for Sanofi at the Ridgefield facility. The site will also be used to expand manufacturing capacity for other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the United States, reflecting the rising demand for local production.

The Ridgefield site employs more than 200 professionals who will now join Thermo Fisher’s workforce. The addition enhances the company’s sterile fill-finish network in the U.S., which already includes sites in Greenville, North Carolina, and Plainville, Massachusetts.

Together, these facilities support Thermo Fisher’s integrated drug development and manufacturing solutions, designed to help pharmaceutical and biotech firms bring new medicines to patients more efficiently.
