WuXi Biologics Unveils WuXia™ RidGS for Antibiotic-Free Cell Development
Tuesday, October 29, 2024
WuXi Biologics recently unveiled WuXia™ RidGS, a high-yield glutamine synthetase (GS)-knockout Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) expression system.
The WuXia™ Cell Line Development Platform family, including WuXiaADCC Plus™ and WuXia™ RidGS, is known for its high yield, with the core WuXia™ platform producing up to 11 g/L.
The WuXia™ RidGS platform is specialised in non-antibiotic cell line development and uses zinc finger nucleases (ZFN) technology to precisely target and knock out the GS gene in CHO cells.
Based on the established WuXia™ platform, WuXia™ RidGS maintains robust cell growth, efficient metabolism, and strong expression capabilities. It achieves an average clonal expression level exceeding 6 g/L for monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and ensures stability for various other therapeutic formats, including bispecific antibodies, Fc-fusion proteins, and recombinant proteins.
This platform also produces proteins with desirable glycosylation patterns and a high purity profile. As a non-antibiotic system, WuXia™ RidGS host and production cells consistently support stable productivity and maintain uniform product quality in extensive long-term cell line stability studies.
WuXia™ has been approved by regulatory agencies worldwide and has generated over 900 cell lines expressing monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, enzymes, and other recombinant proteins, used in clinical and commercial manufacturing.
