Xcell Biosciences and Culture Biosciences Partner to Enhance Cell Therapy Quality Using AI and Machine Learning

Xcell Biosciences has formed a partnership with Culture Biosciences.
The collaboration aims to strengthen data analysis and accessibility for cell therapies developed or manufactured using the Xcellbio AVATAR™ Foundry system. The agreement enables customers to use Culture’s AI and machine-learning capabilities to gain deeper insights and improve their cell therapy processes.
Xcellbio’s AVATAR platform supports cell and gene therapy research and development, while the AVATAR Foundry system is a cGMP manufacturing platform designed to enhance the potency of these therapies. Culture Biosciences offers Console™, a cloud-based software solution that helps teams remotely design, monitor, and analyse experimental data from multiple locations.
Through this partnership, users of the AVATAR Foundry system will be able to access Culture’s cloud-native analysis tools to capture data from cell incubation, including temperature, oxygen, pH levels, and other process information. Teams can also track performance metrics across one or several systems and carry out detailed assessments using AI and machine learning to refine development and manufacturing workflows.
The collaboration aims to support more personalised and predictive approaches in cell therapy, recognising that cells from different patients often require tailored conditions for optimal performance. Real-time monitoring and analysis are expected to help scientists adjust processes more accurately as therapies progress.
Xcellbio plans to integrate additional sensors into the AVATAR Foundry system, allowing the capture of more data that can be processed through Console software. This is expected to give developers a deeper understanding of the therapies they produce. As AVATAR Foundry installations grow across different locations, cloud-based access is anticipated to support users in managing multiple systems efficiently.
The partnership brings together Xcellbio’s expertise in advanced cell therapy platforms with Culture Biosciences’ capabilities in cloud computing, AI, and data analytics, aiming to improve the quality and consistency of cell therapy development.
