HEK293 Suspension Cell Culture

Bioprocess Solutions for Cell Therapy Development

The Eppendorf Bioprocess Unit builds on decades of experience in upstream bioprocessing; for more than ten years Eppendorf is committed to contributing to the advancement of stem cell cultivation in stirred-tank bioreactors. The scalability, robustness, quality, and cost-effectiveness of cell culture processes are key to success when translating basic research to the development of commercially viable cell and gene therapies.

In this study on HEK293 sFree eBookension cell culture using the BioFlo 320 bioprocess controller with BioBLU 3c Single-Use Bioreactors, scientists from Eppendorf evaluated the cell line using bioreactor batch culture. They used this combination to carry out Expi293 cell batch culture in 2 L scale. In addition, the efficient and straightforward configuration of the BioFlo 320 allowed precise control of the cell culture environment, leading to reliable cell expansion.
