Allergan Expands its Dublin and Co Mayo Manufacturing Facilities Investing USD$45m

Introduction:

Botox maker Allergan has announced an addition USD$45m in its Irish Operations. This helps to expand existing manufacturing capacity in Dublin and Co Mayo.

Features:

The additional money will be invested in Allergen’s manufacturing facilities in Westport and Clonshaugh and will support increased manufacturing capabilities for current and future products.

In addition, the Westport facility produces Botox and Allergan’s range of eyecare products, while Clonshaugh in Dublin manufactures the company’s tablet-based medicines.

This continued investment in Ireland operations help to provide innovative medicines to patients across the globe.

Allergan had also made a significant contribution to making Ireland home to a world-class pharmaceutical industry.

With Allergan registered in Ireland, the tax benefit of such a deal was seen as a major motivator for Pfizer. Allergan has made a significant contribution to the economy over its four decades, with investments estimated at a cumulative US$662 m.
