Axplora to Invest US$35 Million (€30 Million) in Le Mans, France
Introduction:
Axplora has announced a US$35 million (€30 million) investment to expand lyophilisation capabilities at its facility in Le Mans, France.
Features:
The development involves the expansion of lyophilisation capacity at an existing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, supporting the freeze-drying of materials used in antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) production. Lyophilisation plays a critical role in improving the stability and shelf life of pharmaceutical compounds.
Production processes will include the handling and processing of complex payload and linker intermediates, with operations designed to support both research and commercial-scale activities.
The facility will form part of an integrated manufacturing setup for ADC production, enabling the safe handling of materials that require controlled processing conditions. It will also align with the production of specialised drug components used in targeted therapies, complementing existing capabilities in payload, linker, and drug substance manufacturing.
As part of a broader global network supporting ADC manufacturing activities, the new lyophilisation capabilities are expected to become operational in 2027.
