BeOne Medicines to Invest US$300 Million in Hopewell, New Jersey, USA
Introduction:
BeOne Medicines has announced plans to invest US$300 million to expand its manufacturing and research and development site at the Princeton West Innovation Campus in Hopewell, New Jersey.
Features:
The project involves the construction of a new three-storey, 145,000-square-foot building adjacent to the existing Hopewell facilities. The expansion will bring the total campus footprint to approximately 545,000 square feet.
The new building will contain small-molecule drug product manufacturing and packaging areas, along with quality control laboratories and office space. The expanded site will combine small-molecule drug product manufacturing with existing biologics manufacturing operations.
The manufacturing areas will support drug product production and packaging. The site will also include quality control laboratory facilities for testing and analysis associated with manufacturing operations.
The project will add manufacturing infrastructure to the existing campus, which includes biologics production facilities. Specific manufacturing equipment, cleanroom classifications, utilities, automation systems, validation procedures and quality-control technologies have not been disclosed.
Construction of the new building is planned as part of the site expansion, with the expanded facility expected to be fully operational in 2029.
