Catalent Invests US$20 million to Expand in Schorndorf, Germany

Introduction:

Catalent invests US$20 million to expand its clinical supply facility. The new facility will be located in Schorndorf, Germany.

Features:

The project will increase the site's footprint  by 32,000 square feet (3,000 square metres) to increase the capacity to store and process clinical trial  materials at a controlled room temperature of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. In addition, this expansion will add more space to install a new fully automated bottling line and a dedicated area for the Catalend FastChain® on-demand delivery service.

Moreover, the facility is well-equipped with temperature-controlled processing, storage and distribution to meet the region's growing demand for clinical delivery capacity and services, including  products requiring cold chain support.

This expansion enables to provide the much needed capacity and capabilities to the growing needs of customers.

Construction of the project is expected to be completed by 2024.
