Indiana University palns to invest US$138 million to open a new state-of-the-art facility in USA.
Features:
IU LAB will be housed in a cutting-edge, six-storey facility spanning 150,000 gross square feet.
This state-of-the-art centre is designed to foster pivotal academic-industry collaborations, driving discovery, innovation, and the commercialisation of novel therapeutics, diagnostics, and medical devices aimed at enhancing human health in Indiana and beyond.
The initiative aims to deliver exceptional education and training opportunities, shaping the next generation of leaders in life sciences and biosciences.
Initially, IU LAB will prioritise research and innovation in five critical areas such as diabetes and obesity, neuroscience, rare diseases, cancer, and bone engineering and regenerative medicine.
The Translational Bio Centre within the facility will feature advanced resources for life sciences, enabling researchers to test discoveries and conduct essential translational work, including in vitro and in vivo screening and preclinical studies.
The facility is slated to open in 2027.
