Johnson & Johnson to Invest over US$1 Billion in Pennsylvania, USA

Johnson & Johnson has announced an investment of over US$1 billion to develop a next-generation cell therapy manufacturing facility in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA. 

Features:

The development will support the production of advanced cell therapies used in the treatment of cancer, immune-related, and neurological conditions. Spanning approximately 2 million square feet, the facility will be equipped with specialised systems to enable the production of cell-based therapies, where living cells are used to treat or manage diseases. 

Manufacturing processes will include cell handling, processing, and biomanufacturing activities, with output focused on small-batch and patient-specific treatments.

The facility will form part of a broader pharmaceutical manufacturing network in the United States, supporting domestic production of advanced therapy medicines. Operations will be integrated within an existing manufacturing and research network, while both construction and manufacturing during its build and operational phases.
