Prudue Pharma Manufacturing L.P. has entered into an agreement with KBR Ltd.'s (KBR) Services Group subsidiary for the construction of a 150,000-square-foot steel-framed Oral Solid Dosage manufacturing plant in Treyburn Corporate Park, Durham. The new facility’s construction began this year and is expected to be completed by 2015.
The company plans to invest US$59 million in the new Durham facility. The company will receive US$300,000 in the form of performance-based grant from One North Carolina Fund. Durham County Commissioners also assured US$1 million in the form of incentives to support the project.
The facility to be built on a 51-acre site will have clean room spaces with epoxy flooring, painted walls and ceilings. In addition to this, the building will also include house administrative offices, laboratories and associated support areas assigned for dining, conferences, and training.
With this new project, the company plans to employ 100 people over the next three years.
