The Klöckner Pentaplast Group (kp) a leading producer and supplier of films for pharmaceutical, medical device, and general-purpose thermoform packaging announced its plans to build a manufacturing plant in India in Aurangabad. Further to this Klöckner Pentaplast, to pursue process development, technology transfer from other Klöckner Pentaplast excellence centers, best practice implementation, and special services to the Pharma industry, will establish its first centre of excellence for pharmaceutical films in India at this location for all of Asia,. Klöckner Pentaplast in a phased approach has begun its manufacturing presence in India.
In the first phase the company plans to produce films for pharmaceutical, food packaging and technical films with an investment in excess of US$ 20 million.
Klöckner Pentaplast serves its customers based in India and across Middle Eastern geographies. The state-of-the-art manufacturing plant will be operational by early 2008 generating employment for over 90 employees. The plant will have a capacity of 15k tons/p.a. at start-up.
