Introduction:
Merck plans to invest US$ 317 million (€270 million) to construct new translational science center and learning center. The new project will be located in Darmstadt, Germany.

The construction includes two new projects such as new translational science center and new learning center. US$235 million will be dedicated for designing new research center and the other US$82 million (€70 million) will be dedicated for new learning center.
Construction of Translational Science Center
The new Translational Science Center covering an area of 30,000 m²will offer rooms for more than 500 scientists. Moreover, the scientists can conduct research ranging from detection of disease biomarkers to the development of targeted therapiesin different fields.
It also includes an integrated, flexible-use laboratory building featuring a café, a lecture hall, in vitro laboratories including a cell bank.
The construction of the translational science center is expected to open in 2025.
Construction of New Learning Center:
The learning center is laid with an investment of US$82 million (€70 million).
The building includes seven floors with an area occupying more than 14,000 m2. It offers workshops, seminar rooms, laboratories etc. In addition, the new Learning Center will bring all vocational training occupations together under one roof.
The construction of the building is expected to complete in 2024.
