Pfizer Inc, plans to open new manufcaturing facility with an investment of US$68.5 million. The facility will be used to further advance gene therapy capabilities.

The new state-of-the-art gene therapy manufacturing facility is designed with 85,500 square foot. The facility is designed on the existing footprint.
The facility is part of an US$800 million investment over the past six years to build three scalable, state-of-the-art gene therapy manufacturing facilities to support gene therapy research, development, and manufacturing.
The three manufacturing facilities feature largest in-house gene therapy manufacturing facility laid with 300,000 square feet capacity to increase the production of multiple gene therapy medicines.
The new facility will approximately create more than 50 jobs in the future and allows relocation of 40 employees to NC site.
