Pharmascience Invests US$120 million to Expand Injectable Manufacturing Facilities in Quebec, Canada

Introduction:

Pharmascience is investing US$120 million to expand its sterile injectable manufacturing facility in Québec, Canada.

Features:

The expansion project triples its current injectable manufacturing capacity and create new manufacturing space, along with the addition of more efficient equipment.

The new facility spans approximately 26,000 square feet, featuring cutting-edge manufacturing space and equipment. Additionally, around 7,500 square feet of Pharmascience's existing manufacturing facilities underwent a retrofit to integrate the latest advancements in pharmaceutical production.

The project will bring about 50 new high-skilled advanced manufacturing jobs. Additionally, it will create another 300 jobs, providing more employment opportunities.

With the new plant expansion, this project will

  • Building R&D strengths to attract a greater number of Contract Development and Manufacturing (CMO and CDMO) projects
  • Enhance domestic biomanufacturing capabilities, fortifying the ability to meet pharmaceutical supply chain demands
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, enabling faster responses to product shortages or addressing urgent health challenges

The plant expansion, scheduled to be operational in 2026.
