Introduction
The Government of Madhya Pradesh proposes to establish an integrated R&D center in the State. The center will offer specialty services in drug discovery (preclinical research). It will facilitate access to high-end, comprehensive research functions at one place and ameliorate technology bottlenecks. This will expedite drug development by rapid screening and testing. The center will spread across three acres of land and will provide approximately 0.1 million sq. feet of lab space for various experimentation functions.
The integrated R&D center will be located in the envisaged Pharma cluster at Indore.
The total investment for the project is estimated to be around US$ 15.5 million.
The Integrated R&D center combines various research verticals at one place and will hasten the discovery process by offering access to multiple experimentation and screening simultaneously at a single location. The center will primarily cater to the needs of multinational and Indian pharmaceutical companies, clinical research organisations (CROs) and domestic generic companies.
The center offers services in the following segments
The center will have specialised research laboratories for Proteomics, Synthetic Chemistry, Functional Genomics, Analysis, Chemoinformatics, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Toxicology, Drug Designing and Bioanalysis. There will be a Central Instrumentation Lab with key equipments FT – NMR, GC – MS, LCMS, MALDI – TOF, FT – IR, Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, HPLC etc.
Further the center will also have facilities like Central Animal Facility, Intellectual Property Management cell, IT Center, Conference and Seminar Rooms, Central Library and Cafeteria.
