The University of Pittsburgh plans for the construction of new bio manufacturing centre in USA.
The University's plan to construct a state-of-the-art life sciences facility. This centre will serve as a hub for life sciences and biotechnology research.
BioForge is a two-storey building that will cover an area of 185,000 square feet and rise to a height of 67 feet. It is designed to facilitate collaboration among scientists, researchers, students, and industry leaders in the field of cell and gene therapies, among other advanced technologies.
The next phase of development is set to begin later in the year, involving site preparation. The exterior construction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.
In addition to advancing biotechnology research, BioForge is expected to likely create employment opportunities in the Hazelwood community, the Mon Valley area, and the broader Pittsburgh region.
