Vetter Expands Manufacturing Sites in USA and Germany
Introduction:
Vetter intends to relocate and expand its development services site from Skokie to Des Plaines, Illinois, bolstering its U.S. presence.
Features:
The project also includes investments in commercial operations in Saarland, Germany, complementing ongoing expansions in Ravensburg and Langenargen to address the increasing outsourcing demands in the injectable industry.
This development plan features a construction project at the new Des Plaines site, along with the relocation and expansion of existing services from the Illinois Science and Technology Park over the next few years.
New facilities for clinical manufacturing and related services will be built, effectively doubling the current capacity and providing space for future expansion.
Meanwhile, in Saarland, Germany, the government is planning to develop a technology park in Saarlouis. Planning for the phased development of a 125-acre site has already begun, with an investment amounting to several hundred million euros. Pharmaceutical production is expected to commence by 2030, creating up to 2,000 new local jobs in the coming years.
These expansions are part of a comprehensive, sustainable, and long-term plan to meet the growing demand for complex injectable handling. This plan aims to support future growth in drug product development, aseptic injectable filling, device assembly, and packaging.
