Once a good model is established, it can be used to create a process design space with minimal experimentation. This book focuses on modeling techniques pertinent to pharmaceutical unit operations that are commonly used in drug development of solid dosage forms.

Each individual chapter is dedicated to a single unit operation, starting with a short introduction to that unit operation that is then followed by a discussion of the techniques that have been successfully used to model that unit operation. Each chapter consists of multiple case studies where a certain model was applied successfully to a certain scenario in order to familiarize the reader with the application aspect of said model.
