Introduction:
Philips-Medisize has unveiled plans of expansion of its Global Innovation and Development (GID) site in Struer, Denmark.
Features:
The Philips-Medisize will equip the Struer Manufacturing facility with agile set up for cleanroom assembly and molding with a potential for clinical trials.
The cleanroom will take up approximately 500 m2 of the existing 8400 m2 building.
It will support late-stage development of medium and high volume products and processes, under GMP and using state-of-the-art equipment.
A dedicated Manufacturing Development and Clinical build unit is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2020.
This expansion will speed up the manufacture of innovative, compliant, and best-in-class products while reducing time to market and also will lower the launch risk for drug delivery device customers.
